Bio/Description

Hej! I'm Zoë, a third-year Ph.D. candidate in the security studies programme at SPIA. My home towns are Stockholm, Sweden and New York, NY. At Princeton, I focus on quantitative methods, intrastate conflict, international human rights, and the Sahel region of Africa. I like to say I am researching 'Peace, Justice and the African Way' with lots of math. Before my Ph.D, I worked as the Programme Manager for the European Union Counter-Terrorism Monitoring, Reporting and Support Mechanism and as a researcher on conflict in Sahel (mostly Mali and Chad) for the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). I also completed a master's at Oxford and my bachelor’s degree in political science and physics at Yale. I'm a very passionate rock climber — and would love to take you climbing — and enjoy other training to get fit for climbing. I also am super interested in classical music, both going to concerts and composing for some too!
