I'm originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, but I've been living in or near New York City ever since I moved there for high school. I went to Columbia for college, where I studied Math, Physics, and Philosophy (officially) and English Literature (unofficially). I am currently a third year PhD student in the Physics department, where I study theoretical high energy physics, in particular quantum gravity, the holographic principle, and phase transitions. There is a lot of beauty and clarity behind these vague jargony words; just ask me! Outside of physics, I am passionate about reading, film, restaurants, music, art, hiking, biking, opera, theater, and (most recently) dance. Princeton, NYC, and Philly have some of the best venues in the world for all of these things. I've been exploring them for years, and I'm excited to keep exploring with the Rocky crew this year.
