Hi Zees! My name is Makenna and I'm from Houston Texas! I have a deep love for good stand-up comedy and enjoy hosting cozy movie nights in my free time. I am a shot put and discus thrower on the women's track team and serve on the Varsity Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Beyond athletics, I am a member of the James Madison Program and am involved with several other law and politics-related organizations on campus. I'm so excited to be a Peer Academic Advisor because I enjoy sharing with people how to make their Princeton experience easier and more rewarding.
Hometown: Houston, Texas
Major: Politics
Certificate(s): Values and Public Life
Favorite memory from my first year at Princeton: My favorite memory from my first year at Princeton was walking into my first-ever Princeton lecture. It felt like starting a long-awaited chapter of my life and the sky was (still is) the limit.
Princeton class that shaped the way I think and why: Professor Macedo’s course on freedom of speech (POL 477), is the reason I am now pursuing a minor in Values and Public Life. I really enjoyed exploring the philosophical arguments behind key policy decisions, especially within the context of the American Constitution. I continue to seek out courses that explore public law and human values.
