Welcome to Rockefeller College - I look forward to getting to know you! This is my fifth year at Rocky and my eleventh year at Princeton. In my role, I work closely with Rocky first-year students and sophomores to support your academic progress and academic well-being. Want to brainstorm your schedule or major selection, learn about academic support resources, explore co-curricular opportunities, or discuss ways to navigate academic challenges? Don't hesitate to contact me with these and other questions. I also work closely with our amazing teams of Rocky A.B. faculty advisers and Rocky peer academic advisers.
Prior to joining Rocky, I taught in the Princeton Writing Program for six years and in the Freshman Scholars Institute for five summers; I have been a fellow for the Cross Country and Track and Field Women's and Men's Teams for the past six years. I received my undergraduate degree in economic sociology, my Master's in sociology and anthropology, and my Ph.D. (from the University of Chicago) again in sociology. While in graduate school, I was involved in cultural policy and program evaluation research, whereas my dissertation focused on questions of heritage bilingualism, language adaptation of children of immigrants, and migration generally. For the past few years, I've been very interested in how we express ideas and find excitement and confidence in and through research writing.
I live in Princeton with my husband and two children. Our son is a high school junior and our daughter is a college sophomore far away from home. I love hiking, gardening, and outdoors, and never miss a chance to get to the shore or the mountains. I look forward to meeting you soon, and please never hesitate to contact me - I am always happy to talk!
